I have commented before on this here, but if you are older the narrower seats are better on your hips and more comfortable/ ergonomic. The high perf skis are amazingly fast and are fun either way. As a 2024 superjet owner , standups actually pretty comfortable since at least straight line you are neutral position.

I just purchased my 4 first used jet skis this year. Wow, people they are so fun. They have really brought my family together to do something together that they actually love. I highly encourage anyone to get one or two or 4 😁

100% disagree with this review. I'm an Alaska Jetski adventure guide in Alaska and have done thousands of miles of riding if you're looking for a ski to take on an adventure this is a ski for you. Look at other reviews.

The pods look like an afterthought mounted to the footwells like that. They could always add a smaller speaker integrated into the dash somewhere for audio feedback and dictation. On my wife's 2021 VX the grilles rusted after about 2 weeks and I learned Yamaha excludes the audio system from their warranty- wonder if that's still the case in 2024- someone could read the warranty guide and see if that language is still there excluding speakers and stereo.

As a live audio engineer its embarassing the yamahas speakers don't sound nearly as nice as Seadoos speakers. Its embarassing because yamaha makes the top of the line audio console the PM10 Rivage. Just crazy how seadoos sounds much more rich than yamahas.

You have said and I agree, jet skiing is meant to unplug you from email! I don't want to read or hear emails. Use the phone to take some pics or for GPS or to call to see how crowded a waterfront restaurant is! That's about it.

Epically disappointing line up from SeaDoo.

I have heard some complaints from people with the GTX 170 about slight pulling to one side or slight leaning/listing.at lower speeds.... Is there anything to this ? Some people had mentioned it could possibly be because there is no super charger intercooler. On the one side... ?

Very much like the mountain bike world. All the folks that have been in that world for decades have a hard time with the models that have everything on them as well as the models that introduce a component that drastically changes something. For example the windshield. I guess the common ideology from old schoolers is, it’s not needed. Didn’t have one before and detracts from the open air experience. But for someone new to the game has a little more open mind and may think l, what a cool idea. I have an option to use it, pull it down and even remove it altogether. That’s where I’m at. I started looking at the explorer pro over the summer. I like what it brings to the table. I don’t need massive speed, I’m ok with the windshield (as long as it’s not foggy), I mostly like the massive storage for overnights on islands and space for my dog when I want to take her. I’ve been in the water when I’m damp and the wind is making me really chilly. So sometimes it would be nice to have a windshield to break up the wind from directly blowing on me. Or when I bring my dog. But I agree, mostly having the wind is great. But I also like the customization of the explorer pro offers. But also like many other models plus the switch. I like options. My mountain bike has some cool options.

When do prices on anything go down?

What do you think about going through hull but above the water line on a seadoo speedster 150. For the purpose of eliminating the chance of sinking if an exhaust coupler pops off. And also for sound? Good idea or bad idea and why?

Fortunate to find a 24 RXT 325 and 2 k below MSRP and no fees. Excited as I sold my 23 Explorer pro in a flat market. Cant wait to get on the bay.

Sorry I disagree. Prices will not go down. Even if all the parts and building took place in China and it was child labor building the jetskis, the price will always go up. 1) Inflation. Inflation exists. It always exists. Heck I'd bet it existed back when beaver pelts were used as currency. We don't have 5 cent movies or 25 cent games at the arcade because inflation. 2) Corporate greed. Even if parts somehow became cheaper, corporations will not lower the price because market is stable in sales and there is enough demand for the current cost. 3) Supply and demand. So long as demand exists for new products with better features (just look at Seadoo's latest 2025 offerings) cost will always go up. Always. 4) The ONLY way you may see costs coming down is for older stock sitting on the lot taking up space. You may see the prices of those unsold older models become cheaper simply because dealers want to get the older models out the door to make room for the newer models.

The prices will come down when people stop buying them.

In you Pro opinion Kevin, which material is better, PolyTech 2 or CM-Tec? Will a GTR-X Hull be more stronger, resistant than a GTX-300 hull?

Does anyone really believe that if, and it won’t, prices of gas and all the other things go down, companies would actually pass these savings onto the customer?

Being 28 and having a good career/job. I can't justify spending 20k plus Canadian on buying a new GTX/GTI to go cruise the rivers around me. Wanting a bigger jet ski as the rivers here get to rough on windy days for smaller skis. I sold my 98 Tigershark TS 770 R and bought my parents old 1996 Sea Doo GTX to completely rebuild as it had been sitting around for years. I have less than 4K Canadian in it altogether at this point and I pretty much have a new old sea doo. You can probably fix them up cheaper than what I’ve spent on mine. Especially in the US where there seems to be an abundance of parts.

There are so many models on the ST3 hull I don't think the whole lineup will be refreshed in the same year either. I think the RXTX and GTX hulls will be swapped first and then the following year SeaDoo will move some others like the WakePro, ExplorerPro, and FishPro hulls over, if they ever will be. They are probably in the same boat as many other companies, where the engineering staff has been cut down and they are in a mostly "support" mode rather than full "development mode"

I was just typing out "They're going to have to reduce their model selection" and then you said it! This is 100% true. It is much cheaper for them to produce 1000 units of the same variety rather than 50 of the 20 different types they are right now. As a product engineer, I went to manufacturing companies to get units of my product made. When we said we were only making 2000 per year they laughed at us because the quantity was too low for the price to come down enough. Quantity and less variety are what it takes to bring down the price right now.

It's called 'baby bait'. Retirees buy recreational toys hoping to entice the grandkids up to the cottage to spend time with them. "Hey Jimmy, come up for a visit, and we'll go fishing together on the FishPro." Kevin, you're right about the 'kingdom'. My in-laws have a cottage on Georgian Bay which they've had it since 1978. Housing prices in Canada have more than tripled since 2017. Their area used to be middle class, but when the value of these cottages went from $300k to well north of a million, the middle-class people sold. Now, ALL of the cottages around my in-laws are owned by engineers, doctors, or business owners. Appropriate toys to their station sit idle at the docks. If you're a middle class millenial or Gen-Z the only ways you're accessing the water are from the boat launch, public beach, or a baby-boomers cottage.

My grandparents bought their first Waverunner in 1995 I was five then. They bought their second one in 1999 in xl760. I'm 34 now very much enjoy the sport and bottom line is my grandparents turned the entire family into a jet ski family. We still have the 1995 and it still runs. I love working on my own engines.

Corrupt politicians on both sides keep printing money to pay for things we don't need or want. This inflates away everyone's savings, so if you have some money why not spend it on toys? The other side of that is I bet there will be a lot of skis hitting the used market in the future with low hours.
